I'm going to be a grandpop, I can see the headlines now, It will only be in poetry, That’s all that I'm allowed. I'll be married to a grandmum, And that might be a chore, Cause when our E calls her, She'll be right off out the door. And I'll left a baching, I'll be cooking for myself, If I need to do the farmwork, I'll be left upon the shelf. I'm going to be a grandpop, My status then will change, Will they put that up on facebook, Who knows what is arranged? In its current accommodation, They've called the baby 'Thing', A cute and gender neutral name, Till the stork flies in on wings. And then we'll have a gender, And the 'Thing' will have a name, But we wonder of the danger, That the 'Thing" name will remain. I'm going to be a grandpop, They are talking March the first, We're hoping that its early Or be punctual, at the worst.
I’m going to be a Grandpop
Cause us grandies have a schedule, So, two weeks after due, We're going on a sojourn, Could we have made a blue? The road from here to baby, May be worn from extra travel, And the tread upon the tyres, Could well become unraveled. I'm going to be a grandpop, It's been made by E and Dave, And when, the 'Thing', it happens, It will be it's grandpop's fave. I'll be wrapped around it's finger, From the time that we first meet, The 'Thing' and grandpop bond, Will be a tricky one to beat. And like all other grandpops, Mine will be the best, No other one is better, Of that I will attest. Bruce
